The elegant ensemble of buildings offers you a choice of wedding experiences, from the awe-inspiring opulence of the famous Painted Hall, to the intimate ambience of the historic Admiral’s House. The famous buildings of this venue that sit alongside the river Thames with unrivalled views across to the City have dazzled visitors for centuries. The vaulted Undercroft and the Victorian Skittle Alley can also be hired to create your own personalised wedding, which are guaranteed to delight your guests and create memories to treasure for a lifetime The Painted Hall at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich is one of the most spectacular and important baroque interiors in Europe. Its ceiling and wall decorations were conceived and executed by the British artist Sir James Thornhill between 1707 and 1726 at the pivotal moment when the United Kingdom was created and became a dominant power in Europe. The hall reopened earlier this year having had its magnificent painted interior brought vividly back to life. The two-year conservation project, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, reversed years of decay and conserved the Painted Hall for generations to come. As you venture further and up a few more steps you are enveloped into a smaller part of the hall, there are fewer windows here, but that only adds to the awe-inspiring opulence. You feel as if you were a living part of the painting experiencing the excitement of each scene.
