Things have changed slightly since the British Government announced that small weddings can take place with up to 30 guests from 1st August. At the last minute, the government was forced to make an U-turn and postpone those plans. Boris Johnson announced "Wedding receptions of up to 30 people will not be permitted until August 15, but ceremonies, of course, can continue to take place in line with covid secure guidelines.” The disappointment and the heartache is completely understanbale and with less than 24 hours notice, many couples were left devastated to have to cancel their plans at such short notice. The joy of even been allowed to have the most intimate weddings were dashed as many couple and wedding professionals felt completely unsupported by the government. As a wedding professional myself, I understand the great need for an official industry body that represents the entire industry. Unfortunately, there isn't one as such at this time, but as a whole, the individual wedding professionals and suppliers have been wonderful with supporting their couples in the best way they possibly can. For all the beautiful couples, my heart goes out to you all and there isn't anything I can say that you probably haven't heard already. You have come this far, now you and we have to carry on walking this journey a little further and look forward to magical days ahead. If you are struggling with the thought of waiting or can't see a solution, whether you are a couple or a wedding professional/supplier, it is so important that you reach out to each other. Together we shall conquer this battle and march to better days filled with fabulousness. Back To HomeComments are closed.
